There are technical schools which focus on training medical specialists and technicians to fill the increasing demands of the medical field. These courses tend to be about two years in length and cover many of the basics of your ultrasound technician training, including maintenance of the machines as well as interpreting data received by them. There are also colleges and universities which offer training in ultrasound technology. These institutions are usually better staffed and have a certain cache when it comes time to find a job after graduation.
